Singapore, 11 April 2000 - The Active Idea Company (TAIC), an Internet solutions innovator, today announced a product offering for the small-and-medium-sized enterprise (SME) market.

Tailored specifically for companies seeking an Internet extension to complement their business processes, TAIC’s Active Portal Technology (APT) delivers a highly scalable technology platform which allows SMEs to exploit powerful online applications formerly affordable only to large corporations.

“Nowadays the first step, or perhaps the only way, to getting attention in this new economy is with your corporate site. People pay attention to that and use it as a barometer of your company’s e-worthiness,” said Douglas Ng, chief executive officer, TAIC.

With eSME, TAIC aims to help SMEs to get on the dotcom horizon as well as to leverage the playing field as prominent Internet plays, by providing critical technology and infrastructure support to them.

eSME transforms the SME’s current site (if any) into a customisable portal with interactive features such as providing dynamic product information, secure logins, links manager, query manager, FAQ manager, mailing list manager, with optional B2B and B2C e-transactions and other feedback systems, says TAIC.

eSME has a one time set up fee of SGD$500 and a monthly subscription cost of SGD$150. Depending on design complexity, the speed with which eSME can be deployed ranges from three days to a month. TAIC is currently finalising negotiations with a business consultant to implement and distribute eSME.
