Bangalore software revenues up 34% in fiscal 2004

Software exports from the city of Bangalore (India) shot up 34% in April-August 2004 compared to the same period the previous year, government agency Software Technology Parks of India said. About 1,400 IT companies based in Bangalore reported export revenues of 75 bln rupees (1.6 bln dollars) in the five months. During the previous year software exports for the five months to August totalled 56 bln rupees.
