Yesterday, I wrote about a research report that envisions IP-enabled mobile devices soon to emerge on the market as a major shot in the arm for VoIP phone sales.

I'm one who believes that the future of mobile devices - both IP and not - will be converged handsets with PDA and cell capabilities.

Sounds like a way cool geekfest, but here's the ant trail at the picnic. If these devices don't have enough memory to hold the data you've inputted when the battery burps or fails, then you are up the swollen stream.

Mobile data loss has not only happened to me, but to a former colleague, Jory DesJardins. Readher Mourning The Loss Of Data blog entry about how she lost her mobile data - and commiserate.

Jory, I feel your hardshIP. Here's hoping the handheld makers get this one right.
