CA Australia gets new chief

Software and services giant CA has appointed an insider to replace its former Australia and New Zealand managing director Tony Armfield, who resigned from the role in October.

in brief Software and services giant CA has appointed an insider to replace its former Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) managing director Tony Armfield, who resigned from the role in October.

In a statement issued this morning, CA said that its Asia south area manager Brenton Smith, who has also held the position of sales vice president in Australia, would replace Armfield as ANZ vice president and area manager of the company's Pacific region.

Smith has also held the post of managing director at Business Objects Australia, leading the firm through its merger with Crystal Decisions, as well as senior posts at Siebel, SAP and SAP consultancy BrightStar.
