CA gets global ISO 9002 certification

Computer Assocaiates International, Inc. (CA) announced its completion of ISO 9002 certification, becoming one of the first enterprise software company to meet the standards of ISO certification.

"Global ISO 9002 certification is an extremely important achievement for CA - one that speaks to our unswerving commitment to quality and integrity," said Joe Cassab, CA's vice president responsible for ISO certification.

The ISO 9002 model, one of three sets of stringent ISO 9000 quality assurance standards, establishes the requirements for organizations whose business processes encompass a range of development, production, installation and service elements.

The ISO certification followed an audit of CA offices in 50 countries. The audit was performed by Quality Assurance Services, an independent agency authorized to determine if companies have met the exacting standards set by the International Standards Organization (ISO).

CA's ISO 9002 certification and recently announced business model strategies to deliver value to their clients, shareholders and employees, according to CA.

The new business model, accompanied by simplified software license, provides flexible licensing alternatives for customers.

About ISO standards
The ISO family of standards represents an international consensus on good management practices with the aim of ensuring that organizations can consistently deliver products or services that meet clients' crucial quality requirements. The standards give organizations guidelines on effective quality management systems and provide models against which the systems can be audited. Such measures provide organizations and their clients with assurance that operations procedures are being effectively conducted.
