Caere is taking its forms technology to the Web. OmniForm Internet Publisher lets users (even non-programmers, says Caere) distribute electronic forms over the Internet and intranets to enable commerce. The product supports HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, and Caere's Open Form Mark-Up Language (OFML) formats which allows graphics-rich forms to be preserved over the Net.
"Forms are the documents of business transactions, be it an invoice, purchase order, packing slip or questionnaire. For commerce to take off on the Internet, there needs to be a forms equivalent. OmniForm Internet Publisher fills this very important gap," said Dean Hovey, imaging products division vice president and general manager. "OmniForm Internet Publisher ... will allow Web site developers of all levels to quickly create powerful, useable forms which can further harness the potential of electronic commerce and other transaction-based activities on the Internet."
