Consulant group Capgemini is to standardize its wireless UK computing technologies by deploying wireless hotspots across its corporate sites and equipping its 5000 employees with Intel CentrinoT mobile technology-based laptops.

The transformation will enable sales executives and consultants to have real-time, wireless access to central business information whether in the office, at client site or traveling, offering multi-million pound annual savings from increased employee productivity and streamlined efficiencies. Capgemini's adoption of mobile technologies also supports its growing business, allowing the organization to maximize its use of existing office space through more flexible working.

"We are constantly looking to improve customer service and gain competitiveness through the deployment of innovative technologies," explained Simon Thomason, Vice President, Technology Services at Capgemini. "Unwiring our business represents a huge step forward for us and dramatically enhances how and where employees can work to improve productivity while supporting our requirements as our business grows."
