CeBIT 2000: Novell searches for worldwide partners

Working together with Fujitsu-Siemens, IBM, Compaq, Dell and Lucent
Written by ZDNet Germany, Contributor

Novell made use of the CeBIT technology fair in Hannover, Germany this week to announce its worldwide partnering programme.

The networking specialist can now be mentioned alongside several big names: its co-operation with Fujitsu-Siemens, for example, was presented on Thursday. Together the two companies developed the Primergy Web Accelerator, which makes surfing faster thanks to an improved Internet cache.

The Novell programme includes an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and an Application Service Provider (ASP), as well as hardware and software vendors, consultants and system integrators. These can be one of three different partnerships: either an alliance, a solution or an industry partnership. On the basis of the directory service, EDirectory, the partners, together with Novell, will be developing and promoting new services and products.
