No one likes to lug around heavy photo or video recording equipment when traveling, and it is hardly even possible underwater without the right protective gear.

The Chobi Cam WP changes the game a bit with a waterproof protective casing, and it will fit in the palm of your hand like a pearl in a clam.

About the size of a standard eraser (as pictured above), the Chobi Cam WP is an ultra-portable camcorder that when incased in the transparent shield, it can withstand being underwater up to 20 meters (65.6 feet). That's an impressive stat, especially when compared to the actual photo quality.

Waterproof cameras and camcorders are never the best, but for its size, the Chobi Cam WP isn't too bad. Expect pictures with a 1,280 x 960 resolution, while video resolution is set at 680 × 480 at 30fps in AVI/Motion JPEG format. Other points of interest include a USB 2.0 port, and a mono microphone. Both Windows and Mac users are welcome.

Available in black or silver, the Chobi Cam WP starts 12,800 yen ($140). The Japan Trend Shop does have it listed at $203 (plus shipping) for those of you are interested and happen to live outside of Japan.
