Most of you readers know me from this neighborhood- where I write about the intersection of advanced telecommunications technology and broadband.

I'll still be writing about these topics on this same blog. Look for even more posts.

Now, though, I am excited to tell you that my daily blog responsibilities have expanded to include my new BlackBerry blog entitled The BlackBerry Beat.

I covered all things BlackBerry at a blog called BBHub. The publisher has decided to retire that blog- as well as more than half a dozen others- for business reasons not really appropriate to discuss here. But what is appropriate is an invitation to join me over on The BlackBerry Beat as well.

A new BlackBerry device- which undoubtedly will be the first in a series- debuts today. Read all about it, as well as about a BlackBerry technology that will let a stolen device go into theft mode.
