Copenhagen forecast: low visibility, low impact

An agreement will be announced. It is likely to fall short of the U.N.'s minimum requirements to curtal emissions and global warming.

Nobody can see where this will end, but end it must. There could be an extension, of course, but the last planned official day of the Copenhagen talks is underway. President Obama is on hand. An agreement may be announced. It's content is far from clear.

There asre still disagreements over monetary pledges, emission cuts and transparency of actual actions after the talks are long over. Some observers say therer'll be a deal. Nobody wants to admit failure in such a public forum. However, the deal to be reached cannot meet the U.N.'s minimum daily requirements. So let the warming continue!
