Department of Defence officials have awarded CSC a AU$15m deal to upgrade Defence's financial information management system, ROMAN.
Defence wants to move to the next version of the system's core application, supplied by SAP. ROMAN helps manage Defence's budget of almost AU$20 billion and assets of over AU$55 billion.
The upgrade would support international financial reporting standards and help Defence track the system's five million annual transactions.
The upgrade is scheduled to be completed over the next 12 to 18 months, according to Defence.
Catalyst Interactive and Cubic Consulting, partners in the CSC bid, will train 5,000 users across 300 locations for the upgrade.
