Delaney minds Vic's deputy CIO role
It was reported early in July that Hodgkinson had left for analyst group Ovum, with the organisation confirming this morning he would head up its newly created public sector practice Down Under.
A spokesperson for Victoria's state office of the CIO told ZDNet Australia this morning its lead strategy analyst Michael Delaney was acting in the deputy CIO spot. The role holds responsibility for e-government and IT strategy.
Delaney had initially been sharing the acting position with another lead strategy analyst, Terry Wright, but now has sole responsibility.
The spokesperson said an executive search process was currently taking place to find a permanent replacement.
The state is not alone in looking for CIO material, with the following organisations also having vacant top level IT spots:
- Victoria Police (also looking for a deputy)
- Aussie Home Loans
- ANZ Bank
- Energex
- Curtin University
- Connect Credit Union
- ETSA
ZDNet Australia revealed last week that Energy Australia had given its interim CIO Sharron Kennedy a permanent role.
