Dell's answer to HP and Apple: 2G Core 2 Duo, 20-inch monitor, $499
HP, Dell, and Apple are fighting for a share of the US home computer market. Dell's weapon of choice: insanely low prices. Check out this system I just bought. How can they make a profit on it?

Don't forget to add $10 for an optical mouse (I can't believe they left that out), and speakers if you don't have any. Gamers may want to plan on adding a PCI-e graphics card if the integrated graphics are not sufficient. Taxes not included.
