Reports on Twitter and directly to ZDNet UK say that Telecity Meridian Gate, a core internet point of presence, peering node and colocation service in London, has been down on Wednesday due to a power outage.

"Telecity Meridian Gate Power Outage 09:13 to 09:40 affected backup Gateways and failover/redundant Hosted services only," said VoIP provider Orbtalk on Twitter.

Other users complaining about the downtime included @marcusdempsey, saying "oh dear London data centre at #telecity is offline, @CommCorp is currently unavailable due to data centre issue" at 09:32 AM. "A power outage in Meridian Gate with Telecity being next to useless with their communication is just the way to start the morning off! :(", said @binthere.

Telecity Group is a £200 million revenue carrier neutral datacentre and colocation provider, and provides connectivity to a wide range of major customers as well as UK internet peering.

This is the second major outage this month for Telecity, with its Harbour Exchange installation going down for around three hours on 6 July.

Telecity was not available to comment at the time of writing.
