Dyson City DC26 is firm's smallest vacuum yet; fits on sheet of A4 paper

Dyson, known for its novel approach to redesigning and reimagining the conventional vacuum cleaner, has unveiled the City DC26, the company's smallest vacuum yet.

The handheld machine weighs 3.5 kg, or about 7.7 lbs., and was first launched in Japan. The machine is designed for urban dwelling where space is at a premium.

The smart idea came when founder Sir James Dyson challenged his engineers to create a cylinder vacuum cleaner small enough to sit on a standard A4-size piece of paper.

Pocket-lint.co.uk quotes the man himself:

"It took us five years to painstakingly compress and rebuild every single component before we had a machine that was a third smaller than its predecessor, yet could still tackle dirt like bigger machines."

It starts at a hefty £249.99, or approximately $405 USD.
