There is a ton of compact notebook news coming out of Computex 2008 this week and E-TEN used the event to announce four new Glofiish Windows Mobile devices. Arne Hess, at the::unwired brought the news to my attention and the E-TEN press release has all the details on the DX900, V900, X900, and X610 devicesthat will be launching soon.

E-TEN has been delivering Windows Mobile devices for a few years and their Glofiish product line seems to do pretty well in the SIM-unlocked market. They are well known for including lots of extra useful utilities and functionality on their devices and I have found them to be of very good quality. The president of my company is very happy with the X650 I recommended he try out. There are Glofiish devices in several different flavors that cover a broad range of consumers, from those who like QWERTY keyboards to those who want GPS and a VGA display, with all of them being Windows Mobile touch screen mobile devices.

The new DX900 is unique in that it has a dual-SIM functionality so you can use it for personal and business, data and voice, or for local and international calling. I could actually put in my T-Mobile and AT&T SIM cards and use the AT&T one for HSDPA data while using T-Mobile for calls. The DX900 has a VGA display, integrated GPS receiver, 3 megapixel camera, and integrated WiFi/Bluetooth radios.

The V900 includes DVB-T/H and T-DMB/DAB mobile TV receivers for watching TV on the go, in countries where this technology is supported. It also includes a VGA display. The X900 has a VGA display and supports VoIP calling with the focus on consumer media consumption. The X610 is the value device that includes a GPS receiver.

Pricing and availability was not provided and there are lots of other details that should be posted soon. A couple of the devices look like competitors to the HTC Diamond and other HTC devices and it is starting to look like VGA displays may be a new standard for the mid to high level Windows Mobile devices.
