Mobile phones may cause eye cancer according to a German study published this week.

The study, conducted by Essen University clinic, found that 118 patients with an eye cancer called uveal melanoma had used mobile phones more frequently than 475 healthy patients. One of the researchers, Andreas Stang told Reuters the cancer could be caused by radiation emissions, however, he said uveal melanoma is rare and as such the public should not be overly concerned. The news comes after the UK government demanded mobile phone operators issue a written health warning with all new handsets stating radiation emissions from phones may endanger health.
