Firefox 3.1 beta 3 was not released as planned on Feb. 2 and is not expected imminently.

"At this time, we don't have a good estimate for when we'll be releasing Beta 3, as there are some issues remaining which are tricky and complicated, and we want to ensure are fully resolved," said Mike Beltzner, Mozilla's director of Firefox development. "We're working on a revised schedule, which should be posted in a few days."

Beta 3 was originally expected in early January and then was delayed until January 26. Firefox 3.1 was essentially a minor update until the powers that be at Mozilla decided to add a new round of features in the .1 update, such as private browsing.

There are roughly 15 more P1 blockers -- serious bugs -- that still need to be resolved before launch.
