After the big uproar over Sony's use of rootkit technology on some music CDs, Sony announced yesterday that they will provide a patch for the copyright protected CDs.  However, Corante and Edward W. Felten claim Sony is still not being forthright about the issue. Meanwhile, Eric Goldman defends Sony's use of DRM and says the EULA contains full disclosure.  He says from a legal perspective, he doesn't think Sony has done anything wrong.  Maybe not, but Sony has surely managed to anger a lot of people.  I think people are entirely justified in being angry over this outrageous use of DRM.  I know I'll think twice about purchasing any CD from SonyBMG in the future.
