Gartner: spending up 17% in India

Gartner estimates that Indian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) spending would grow at 17% to $ 17.17 billion in 2003-2004 due to a strong spending on telecom services and equipment and software in the country.

Gartner estimates that Indian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) spending would grow at 17% to $ 17.17 billion in 2003-2004 due to a strong spending on telecom services and equipment and software in the country. According to Gartner estimates, out of the total IT spending in India, 42% is in telecom services, 26% goes into infrastructure (hardware and telecom equipment), 18% into internal services (ICT staff costs), 10 per cent goes into IT services, and 4% into software.
