Gates: .Net operating systems on tap

ORLANDO -- Microsoft Corp. (msft) Chairman Bill Gates provided some insight into the next two Windows releases, code-named Whistler and Blackcomb, during a keynote address Wednesday at Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference. Whistler will allow users to save files to a "Microsoft community site" on the Internet. But it will be Blackcomb, the successor to Whistler that is due in the second half of 2002, that will include the most profound .Net-related advances.
