Gerstner: IBM to invest $1 billion in Linux next year

NEW YORK -- IBM (ibm) chairman and CEO Louis Gerstner said IBM is planning to invest $1 billion in Linux in 2001, and another $4 billion in "e-sourcing" over the next three years.
