Who really rules the Web? What is the state of Internet culture today?

Remember when AOL ruled online? How quaint!

Google of course declares itself to have taken over as the "gateway to the Internet."

Who needs AOL? Or anyone else, in today's Google world!

Is "the notion that the new kids on the block have taken over" a false notion though, as Time Warner CEO Richard Parsons nevertheless protests?

Has Parsons shared his prognosis with the biggest "new kid" on the Internet block, Google, the 5% equity holder in Time Warner's AOL and company he is happy to outsource mission critical AOL operations to?

"You've Got Mail," was all the movie rage, almost TEN YEARS AGO!

AOL may have helped drive pop culture phenomen in the 90's. NOW though it relies on competitor Google to help drive its very business!

AOL, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan MOVE OVER, really! Why?

"I Google Myself" debuts on stage in New York City, opening night slated for June 21:

Presented at Under St. Marks Theater, the play

Is the unusual story of three very different men with the same name. One is a gay porn star with a dirty little secret. One is a stoner mechanic who blogs poetry and has anger management issues. And another is a wily stalker with a balloon fetish, desperate to make a connection. Their worlds collide when one man Googles his own name to find others who share his moniker. What he discovers leads to an unforgettable, ripped-from-the tabloids chain of events that will leave you asking yourself: what would I do to become a top search term on Google?

Not quite the peaches and cream Hanks-Ryan love story of the AOL "You've Got Mail" era?

Not surprising. After all, Google claims to organize ALL the world's information, in all its diverse flavors.
