HTC Cavalier, T-Mobile Dash successor, now available from U.S. online retailers

As I have mentioned a few times, the T-Mobile Dash is my favorite Windows Mobile device. As a Windows Mobile 6 device I haven't found it lacking anything. However, HTC has a follow-up device that doubles the processor speed, adds 3G for the U.S. (AT&T that is), and bumps the camera from 1.3 to 2 megapixels. Now that I am an AT&T data customer with a 3G SIM, I am interested in checking out the HTC Cavalier. I read on Mobility Site that the device is available SIM unlocked from various US importers, like PhoneSource USA, for about US$560. There are no details on any U.S. carrier offering the device with a carrier subsidy.

Specifications of the HTC Cavalier include Windows Mobile 6 Standard, 400 MHz Samsung processor, 128 MB ROM, 64MB RAM, quad-band GSM and UMTS 850/1900/2100 with HSDPA, 2.4 inch QVGA non-touchscreen display, integrated 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD expansion slot, 1.9 megapixel camera, HTC JOGGR volume/misc. control and integrated QWERTY keyboard. It is slightly heavier than the Dash.
