HTC just announced the promotion of HTC America president, Jason Mackenzie, to global Executive Vice President. HTC VP of sales for HTC America, André Lönne, will succeed Mr. Mackenzie as president of HTC America.

Mr. Mackenzie was a founding member of HTC America and helped lead HTC to many firsts in the wireless industry, including the first 4G smartphone. He has also actively promoted HTC's Uh Oh protection plan and timely software updates.

HTC Chairman and CEO, Cher Wang, stated, "Jason Mackenzie is one of HTC's strongest senior executives and it was important for us to promote our senior talent and take advantage of his leadership as HTC moves forward." I've had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Mackenzie a few times over the past several years and think this is a great move for HTC that will hopefully lead to further success for HTC.

HTC continues to expand its role beyond smartphones, including in the area of virtual reality and the internet of things. Jason is passionate about HTC and it will be interesting to see his passion translated into these areas beyond the smartphone.
