IBM names new general manager
IBM said Monday that it has named Michel Mayer as the newgeneral manager of the Microelectronics Division. His appointment as head of IBM's chip unit comes after the departure of Microelectronics Vice President Christine King, who recently left IBM to become CEO of AMI Semiconductor.

Previously, Mayer served as a general manager of IBM's Pervasive Computing group.
