Digital consumers are still haunted by the potential for online credit card theft. Now, businesses are banding behind an effort to banish the bogeyman once and for all. A new white paper published by the Software and Information Industry Association offers specific ways for businesses to protect themselves from becoming unwitting accomplices to fraud. Consumers aren't the only victims when identity fraud occurs, said Fred Hoch, manager of the association's e-business division.
