Larry and Sergey are putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to zero emission automobiles. The "Model S" is the latest from Tesla Motors, which hopes it will lead to mass-production of electric vehicles.

Cars that "fill up" from the grid, and even put power back into it are almost certainly going to be the way of the future -- an investment in this area is pretty much a safe bet I'd suspect.

On top of the "feel good" aspect of purchasing an electric car, the Model S is also a very sexy looking vehicle -- cosmetically, environmentally friendly cars have come a long way since they first started appearing. It has some pretty impressive specs too:

  • 0-60 in 5.6 seconds
  • 300 mile range on 45 minute charge
  • $49,900 after a $7,500 federal tax credit

You can see the car in action here. The Model S will feature 3G connectivity and integrate with Google Maps and things like Internet Radio.
