Drew Olanoff has infected the world with positive disease: awareness. And he's done so by taking advantage of the interwebs.

Olanoff has been fighting cancer for a while now, and it looks like he's getting a little better. In the process, he has been using the web to get people to donate money for his cause. He's gotten Livestrong to help as well, which is huge.

He's even proposed to auction off his Twitter name @drew for the cause.

This week, Drew Carey said he would donate a fresh million to Olanoff if he can get a million followers by 2010.

Even if you don't care for Drew Carey, follow him so Olanoff can get the donations. You can always unfollow him after the new year.

If you use Twitter or social media at all, you can't miss Drew. He's everywhere. I remember sitting at my desk a few months eagerly waiting for him to appear on CNN.com/live:

I don't know how much money Drew has raised, but I know one thing: he's touched me. Not because he's helped me to realize I can blame my misfortunes on his cancer, not because he got to hang out with the Philly Phanatic:

He's touched me because he's been served with something unpleasant, and he's making the best of it. Not only that, he's creating awareness for his illness, and helping others in the process.

I am really proud to have met Drew back at SxSW last year. His strength, courage, motivation, and heart have made the world a better place. I snapped this picture of him rockin on stage:
