Marketing guru signs on with Linuxcare

Marketing expert Regis McKenna, who helped firms such as Microsoft Apple Computer and America Online during their early years, is joining the board of Linuxcare, a start-up that provides 24-hour support for a variety of Linux distributions.

"The Open Source development model represents a fundamental realignment of the software industry," McKenna, who's also chairman of consulting firm The McKenna Group, said in a statement.
