Michael Dell: Become one with the customer

LAS VEGAS -- Michael Dell, chairman and chief executive of Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL), sees that the next big trend for e-commerce is integrating with customers' information technology systems over the Internet. "One of the key things that's happening is integration with customers' core IT systems --if a customer has SAP, PeopleSoft, integrating with that," Dell said. "We're doing that now, with commerce integration. That, I think, is going to be essential to success. Having duplicate systems is not going to cut it."
