in brief The Australian arm of Mitsubishi Motors has recently signed a "major" three-year managed services contract with integrated ICT vendor Commander.

The win -- announced with Commander's half-yearly results this morning -- was believed to cover desktop, network and server services, a spokesperson for the group told ZDNet Australia, although further information was not immediately available. A spokesperson for Mitsubishi had not returned calls by press time.

In its statement, Commander said the win reflected the expansion of its managed service team, in addition to its new combined offering due to the now-completed acquisition of systems integrator Volante in mid-2006.

Commander said its managed and professional services division had retained "all major contracts" since the Volante acquisition, with some of those being extended and re-signed.
