Called the Control Creation Edition, the product is based on the VB 5.0 engine and comes with the integrated development environment. The product will be debuted to chime with Microsoft's Site Builder Conference which begins in San Jose, California on October 28. The full version of the Control Creation Edition will ship later this year, according to a Microsoft UK spokeswoman.

Also available for the end of October will be a beta version of Vista, a new Internet Studio Web development tool.

Separately, Microsoft says it still expects to release a beta version of the full Visual Basic 5.0 product by the end of 1996, and a shipping version by April 1997.
