Netflix is adding subscribers at a rapid clip. The company said Thursday that it has added 600,000 subscribers since Jan. 1 to pass the 10 million subscriber mark.
Judging from Netflix's latest subscriber additions (statement) you can conclude:
- Distribution deals via Roku, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and a bevy of DVRs is paying off.
- Netflix is about to hit scale with its subscriber base.
- Cable subscriptions may be suffering as cash strapped consumers use services like Netflix and Hulu for their video needs. The Wall Street Journal highlighted this trade-off on Wednesday.
- Perhaps Netflix is a bit recession proof.
