New leader for Gnome Linux project

Timothy Ney has been named executive director of the Gnome effort to create a graphical user interface for Linux and several versions of Unix. Ney previously was managing officer of the Free Software Foundation.

Under his tenure at the FSF, Ney helped the organization rise to having assets of more than $1 million, Gnome said in a statement Wednesday. --Stephen Shankland, Special to ZDNet News
