Newer gets equity partner

Mac upgrade maker Newer Technology Inc. today announced an equity partnership with Singapore-based fabricator Tri-M Technologies, ending weeks of speculation about the company's future. Earlier this month, Newer seemed on the verge of bankruptcy as it sent letters to creditors asking them for concessions. As part of the deal, Tri-M Managing Director Gerald Minjoot will take over as CEO and chairman of Wichita, Kansas-based Newer; three other Tri-M executives will also join the Newer board. -- MacCentral staff report
