The number of individuals conducting banking transactions online has increased nearly 80% over a two-year period, from 12.9 million in fall 2001 to 23.1 million this fall. In year-over-year comparisons, online banking grew 32%, from 12.9 million users to 17.1 million, from fall 2001 to fall 2002. And the trend continued with a 36% growth level between last fall and this year
