The world is getting a first glimpse this morning at user interface of the upcoming and much-awaited Nokia Symbian^4 smartphone videos thanks to a couple of demo videos that popped up on YouTube.
The two clips are relatively short, but they reveal a very attractive looking interface, not far off from the style of Windows Phone 7: very modern and sleek, but somehow simple.
Other than looks, there isn't much to be learned unfortunately. The first clip, only a little over half a second long, reveals you can drag widgets across multiple screens.
The second clip, just over a minute long, goes over the main menu in more detail. Graphics and photo quality look pretty solid, and the video zooms out of the menu to get a better look at the whole device. There's also a large yellow dot that moves around the screen. I can't tell if this will be a mouse-like icon for easier guiding, or just a way to attract attention to certain features in the video.
This is it for now, and there will probably be more trickles of information throughout the year, as the Symbian^4 won't be seeing stores until 2011.
