Novell wins contract for Cap Gemini MoD project

Network software firm Novell has won a deal with IT consultancy Cap Gemini to provide technology for its contract with the UK Ministry of Defence.

Novell will supply its iChain directory services technology to the emarketplace Cap Gemini is building for the MoD. Cap Gemini said it selected Novell because its directory was both flexible and scalable. In July the MoD awarded a £45m contract to construct a procurement exchange, called DECS (Defence Electronic Commerce Services), to Cap Gemini.
