Oracle partnership brings LPG Innovations and Wellance together

Finnish mobile software company LPG Innovations announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Wellance, the Dutch application service provider. Wellance will integrate LPG WAPoffice as a part of its mobile Internet platform and offer customers LPG WAPoffice functionality such as wireless access to email, office calendars and directories.

What impact do you think this partnership will have in the industry? YES

The deal was generated through the Oracle Wireless Partner Initiative. Both Wellance and LPG Innovations have partnered with Oracle and in autumn 2000 LPG WAPoffice was included in the Oracle9i AS Wireless Edition platform.

Wellance provides its customers with application services for managing e-commerce information security, billing and user authentication. Wellance has also entered the mobile Internet market with its new Mobile Delite platform that enables customers, such as banks and large corporations, to mobilize their workforces and give them access to networked applications with mobile terminals.

The LPG WAPoffice(tm) enables easy and quick access to basic office applications, such as electronic mail, directories and calendars, using WAP terminals.

"We see the mobile Internet as a transparent extension to the traditional Internet. Wellance aims at enabling companies' all network applications to be used also with wireless devices", comments Wellance CEO, Geert Kampschöer. "We believe that in the future, a company's employees are no longer tied to time or place, but that they must be able to exchange important information in a secure way anywhere and anytime. With the MobileDelite platform, they can do just that."
