KARACHI (Asia Pulse)--Software houses from Pakistan have demonstrated their capability to support the Dubai government's efforts for promoting latest information technology, including e-government, among the public and private sectors.

The demonstration was carried out at a meeting organized in Dubai under the banner of the newly established Pakistan IT Professionals Forum and attended by more than 200 members of the community, including senior Pakistani IT managers of multinational companies in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

President of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA) Hamza Mateen said the representatives of more than 10 software houses from Pakistan presented their products and services, including enterprise resource planning e-commerce portals and applications.

The PASHA had selected the 10 companies, the only criteria being that the products and services of the participating software houses must follow the best international practices, standards and quality.

Some of the major participants from the centres of Pakistani IT industry like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, were present.

Several software houses specialized in offering state-of-the-art products to the banking and finance industry.
