Palm begins shipping colorful handhelds

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Palm Inc. Monday begins shipping a colorful handheld computer for the mass market and plans to announce other product line changes that are the first since new top management came on board earlier this year. The M100, which will retail for $149, will feature 4MB of memory and personal information manager functions.
