This year's show had more PC and Internet-based products than Live 95, but far fewer exhibitors. Microsoft, Packard Bell, IBM and Olivetti hosted major stands, but Apple and Panasonic were notably absent. ISPs Demon Internet and AOL were present, as were games houses Sega and Nintendo.

Olivetti demonstrated its new Xana range of consumer PCs, and IBM its Aptiva line. Sony flaunted its first ever PC, and N Channel claimed the first UK Network Computer (NC).

Psion Dacom, Nokia, Sanyo and Creative Labs were among other companies showing new products.

Live 96 will run from 25 to 29 September from 10am to 7pm and costs £9 for adults and £5 for children.

The Live 96 tickets office can be contacted by telephone on 0171-396 4545.
