Pioneer HDJ-1000 headphones go limited edition with a golden touch

Pioneer has bestowed a shiny golden exterior to its HDJ-1000 headphones, but few other changes on the inside.

The DJ-style headset, which will also be available in black, should have some improved bass frequencies and linear response thanks to the 38 micrometers diaphragm and 1.5mm voice coil. Pioneer has also tweaked the the mono/stereo selector circuit was modified in order to produce clearer sound and differentiation between instruments.

Both the HDJ-1000 limited edition sets will be available in December for $209. That's certainly pricey for this headset, but isn't quality (and stylish) audio playback the gift that keeps on giving?
