This week on the Dan & David Show we discuss the curious case of the OpenDocument Format and the role of the OpenDocument Foundation. David takes a deep dive into the controversy that rose out of the OpenDocument Foundation proposing an alternative to the OpenDocument Format. It turns out to be more of a tempest in a teapot as he wrote in his post, " "OpenDocument Format community steadfast despite theatrics of now impotent ‘Foundation’."

We also discuss the Giant Global Graph, Sir Tim Berners-Lee's ideas about the intersection of the semantic Web and social networking.

In addition we look at two mobile technologies--Google's new My Location mobile feature in Google Maps, which can approximate your position using cell tower IDs instead of GPS, and Cubic Telecom's MaxRoam service, which David believes a technology as disruptive to the telcos as Skype was when it came on the scene.

David also shares the latest news on the OpenDocument Format, OpenDocument Foundation and Common Document Format saga.
