The California-based software vendor will next week launch FixIt (£40, all prices average selling price including VAT), the troubleshooter suite it recently acquired with the purchase of Vertisoft. It will follow up at the beginning of October with MagnaRAM 97 (£40), an update to the memory manager that adds faster loading of 32-bit applications, and cache optimisation that allows hard drive cache to be recycled for other tasks when not being used by the disk. Also new is a control panel that allows better monitoring of MagnaRAM activities, according to the firm.

Before the end of the year, the firm will also release WebCompass 2.0, a new implementation of its WWW searching utility. A beta is currently available from the Quarterdeck Web site. The firm recently released a new version of its WinProbe system diagnostics tool.
