Reorg, new name in store for NEC

NEC Corp. will take on a new name and a new face with the start of the new year. The company will consolidate all of its operations outside of Japan and China under a new name, NEC Computers International B.V. As of Jan. 1, the new entity will encompass operations in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. NEC Computer Systems Division, the company's commercial division in North America, will be renamed NEC Computers Inc. --John G. Spooner, ZDNN
