Rising sea levels and rising levels of anxiety

You can't negotiate with the laws of physics.

Australia is dealing with higher high tides. The rising of the tide levels has accelerated in recent decades.

The Maldivian president is urging all vulnerable nations to go carobn neutral. That would be nations vulnerable to rising sea levels. The Maldives are a low-lying archipelago in the Pacific. Said president Mohamed Nasheed "It is easy to assume that it can be solved by a messy political compromise between powerful states. But the fact of the matter is, we cannot negotiate with the laws of physics. We cannot cut a deal with mother nature."

In Egypt there's worry over the fate of Alexandria and much of the low-lying Nile Delta. There salt water intrusion has already destroyed some farming areas.
