S3 is doffing its cap to European software developers by opening a developer relations office in London. The graphics and audio chip maker said that the office will be a means of technical and marketing assistance for coders.
Of most attraction to S3 will almost certainly be the games sector where the UK continues to be an important supplier to the global market. "The European development community is respected around the world for the immense creativity and innovation of its products," said Paul Ayscough, senior manager of European ISV marketing at S3.
The office won't be S3's only tight connection with the UK: the company's CEO Gary Johnson is one of a select number of Britons who run top US hi-tech firms.
